The Great Northwest Region of ARMA International announces its Region Conference to be held in beautiful Portland, Oregon April 7 – 9, 2008.
We invite you to join us as a presenter at the conference. Our conference theme is “LINKS: Leveraging Information, Networks, and Knowledge Successfully.” LINKS was chosen to illustrate how records & information management is an integral part of an organization’s well-being and how it is our duty as records professionals to establish, grow and maintain links not only with our customers and organization’s management, but also with our partners in technology services, legal services, and with our vendors and fellow RIM professionals.
For details on submitting a proposal, please visit the Great Northwest Region website and click on the Call for Presentations link or contact me offline. Thank you.

Oregon Archaeology Celebration will be October 1 through 31, 2007. We are just starting the planning process for this year. Our theme is “Climate Change – Profiling Climate Change through Archaeology.” However, events do not have to “fit” that theme. Any and all events that help connect Oregonians to how people lived in the past, used land and resources in the past, created beauty, believed and took care of the land, resources and people in the past, any activity that helps modern day people appreciate the knowledge, skills and histories of peoples and cultures, is an “event” OAC would like to publicize and recognize.
Events can be static, unstaffed, such as a display, or interactive, such as a lecture or demonstration. They can require physical activity like a tour or mock dig or they can be stationary like a video presentation. Target participants can be children, adults, families, students or mixed-age audiences. Past events have ranged from elaborate “living history” fairs to simple, heritage themed displays in a library.
The heart of Oregon Archaeology Celebration is the events. While OAC will run the month of October, activities and events that start in September or continue into November also can be included. Please consider what you might want to do, what might be going on at your facility or with your programs next October and then consider list these items in the OAC Calendar of Events. The Calendar of Events gets distributed to thousands of individuals through schools, visitor centers, libraries, and tourism offices. It also is hosted on a website advertised by the Oregon Archaeology Celebration poster.
